Moving to the USA Part 1🇺🇸 From Dream to Reality

You've been dreaming of living in the United States of America.

The world is getting crazy.

Many people are getting laid off and/or quarantined - making them rethink their entire lives.

Our children have been robbed of 2 years of their childhood.

We get it. Everyone has their reasons. Everyone has a story, and everyone has a dream.

Mine (and my partner's) just so happened to be - Living free, and living somewhere tropical.

Mexico was a choice, after spending over 2 months there in 2019-2020, we visited some business for sale and considered moving away, for good.

BUT like everyone, we have a story; a child in split custody, a construction business, etc etc...

It also turns out that it only rains 2 days a year in Cabo, and well... roofing is not a necessity.

So USA it it! After all, it is the land of opportunities!

So our quest to move away began... with a long road ahead of us and many many bumps to surpass.

I took about a year off of writing blogs, not sure why, as it's much better than just scrolling through my phone at night. Here's a promise to be CONSISTENT in the near future (my biggest problem).

So here I am, starting a "moving to the USA" thread on my blog.

I'm going to go step by step on HOW we did it, HOW we are still doing it (because yes it is a LONG process and NO we are FAR from done).

I'm finally feeling ready to connect and share the knowledge we've acquired from hours and hours of research/calls.

All I can say as Step 1 - PLAN PLAN PLAN - I personally love using simple notebooks like these to plan my life!

- WHERE do you want to move?

- Is your partner onboard?

- HOW are you going to get a VISA?

- WHAT VISA do you want?

- Are you starting a new business?

- HOW are you going to fund your move?

- WHERE are you going to live? AIRBNBs are $$$$$ and renting is COMPLICATED

- SHOULD we simply do 6 months - 6 months to start off?

These are all things I will be covering in the coming weeks/months, but it is extremely important to start thinking and planning all these things right away.

Stay tuned for the next blog post which will cover how to start your US credit history BEFORE moving to the USA (something I wish I knew).
